FAQ

Using JTAG on SBC-SAMA5D36

The SBC-SAMA5D36 has a 10pin JTAG Connector. How can I connect it to the 20pin connector of my debugger?

The SBC-SAMA5D36 revision 3 uses a 10pin 1.27mm (0.05") pin header for the JTAG debug interface. This connector is mostly compliant with the Cortex-M Debug Connector specified by ARM. Deviating from the specification pin 9 is connected to nTRST.

You may use the J-Link 9-pin Cortex-M Adapter to adapt the standard 20pin JTAG interface to the 10pin connector of the SBC-SAMA5D36. For proper operation, you have to shorten the solder bridge NR1. Also, pin 7 is blocked by a keying peg, which must be removed.
