FAQ

DIMM-MX257 CAN Baudrate setting

The actual baudrate of the CAN interfaces are about 1% to high, how to change this?

Indeed the baud rate is a bit too high. Please find below the parameters for the exact baud rates.

The settings of the timing registers of the CAN interfaces are configured by some registry entries. The entries can be found in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEDriversBuiltIn?HCAN_MX257_0] and  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEDriversBuiltIn?HCAN_MX257_1].

The new values are:

"baudtable"=hex:0a,00,5f,07,07,07,00,14,00,2f,07,07,07,00,32,00,17,07,02,07,00,64,00,0b,07,02,07,00,7d,00,0b,07,01,04,00,fa,00,05,07,01,04,00,f4,01,02,07,01,04,00,20,03,02,02,02,02,00,e8,03,01,03,02,03,00,e8,03,01,03,02,03,00,

Don't forget to make the changes in the registry persistent. For example, with the application WriteReg.exe provided by emtrion in the Windows CE OSDesign.

GPIOs at DIMM-MX257

Have the DIMM-MX257 only 6 GPIO pins?

emtrion's SODIMM concept has 10 pins specified for GPIO function. With DIMM-MX257 you can use 6 pins as input and output. These 6 pins are always available, whatever other interfaces are in use.If more than 6 GPIO pins are needed, you can use the pins from unused CPU interfaces. For example, if you don't need the SPI interface, you can use these pins as additional GPIOs.

Standard Module vs. Camera Module (DIMM-MX257)

What is the difference between the standard module DIMM-MX257 and the camera module DIMM-MX257 CAM?

The camera module DIMM-MX257 CAM supports a camera/video in the interface. But the 2nd SD Card, UART_D and GPIO_A to GPIO_D are not available on the DIMM-MX257 CAM module.
